Privacy Policy

One of the key principles that public service translators must comply with is to protect all data, information and facts that come into their possession in the provision of their services. This is one of the legal obligations of public service translators and court interpreters under the Polish Act of Parliament regulating these two professions (although combined into one). This statutory protection is essential, as the documents that official translators work on or will often contain private and confidential information, including medical, legal or financial details.

When you contact me and, in particular, send me your documents or tell me anything I may need to provide you with a professional service, you can be certain that your data and information are secure. This includes your personal data such as your name or phone number and the content of all documents you may provide me with for translation or as reference materials. Your translations and their content are also protected. No person than myself will ever have access to your data, information or documents.

I will not collect any of your personal data whenever you browse through this website. I will ask you to share your basic details (your name, phone number and e-mail address or, sometimes, your mailing address) if you choose to use my services. All your data will be kept secure and properly protected.

The controller of your data is Monk Translations Limited, 160 Kemp House, The City, London, the UK („MTL”).

MTL’s processing of your personal data is required for MTL to comply with its contract with you. You do not have to provide your personal data, but you will not be able to use MTL’s services. All source documents and texts you provide to MTL for translation and the translations of such documents will be retained for two years in case you want to make a complaint about the quality of my services.

If you wish to receive an invoice or receipt for your payment, you will have to provide MTL with the required billing information. This information will be retained for as long as it is required by tax regulations.

You have the following rights in respect of your personal data:
the right to access your data,
to right to request a copy of your data that is processed by MTL,
the right to have your data rectified or corrected,
the right to have your data deleted and the right to restrict the processing of your data.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint to the relevant supervisory authority, i.e. the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
